Mr. Finance Minister

He had always heard that drug addicts can easily get transmitted diseases through sharing of needles.

To him this was not something he would undergo. It was for them. For him he was from a well up family and had everything he needed. His father was a minister of finance. As a minister’s son he was provided with all the basics of life.

In school he allowed others to lead while he became last. He could do nothing but sleep and make noise during preps. Teachers tried to give him sound advice but he could not listen. After some time he run away from school with the very notion that he had all the necessities of life and did not need to be educated.

Arnold got addicted to heroin Mr. Finance Minister

Arnold changed his friends and became violent; he had no will or determination to stop taking Heroin

Once out of school and with a lot of money to spend (money embezzled from the public funds by his father), he started smoking cigarettes; expensive cigars. He would hold a cigarette on one hand while driving. Many said he looked flashy.

* He felt that cigarettes could not give him what he wanted. And he started taking heroin.

Yeah! He felt what he had always desired. He would jokingly ask what can’t money buy if it can buy such pleasures? for him where to get the next dose was never a problem. The problem was how to finish the large quantity of heroin hidden in his room.

* His parents had started to note changes in him but thought it was nothing much.

He changed his friends, his interest and his usual characteristic. He became violent. It was not until he slapped his father in a public event that it was realised he was out of his mind.

His father had been very busy embezzling funds that he hardly noted his son changing. * He exchanged himself for money. He made money the father of Arnold. He made money everything to Arnold. Wherever Arnold turned there was always enough money. Arnold was now an addict.

* His father tried to take him from one rehab to the next but it did nothing good to him.

Arnold had no will or determination to stop taking heroin. With no money he started sharing with his friends. They would contribute some cash buy some heroin and share it. Of course they would share needles.

He contracted hepatitis B. He became too sick and was admitted in a hospital. Once out of hospital, he remembered how he used to reason and realized that drug addiction can occur to anyone who presented himself to the drugs. * Drugs did nothing but turn someone against themselves. *

He confronted his father and told him these painful words and that was nothing than the truth: had you not worked so hard to bring the economy of South Africa to its knees by embezzling funds, I would not be the wreck I am today.
