It is not always the drug addict who dies. The need for the drug can be so strong that it can lead to violence which can ultimately result in the death of someone they love. Drug addiction has the potential to kill anyone connected with the drug user. Drug addiction also leads to overdose and side effect complications which lead to the untimely death of many drug addicts. In short, drug addiction costs the abuser and their loved ones everything they hold dear.
