How to Identify a Crack Addict
First it is important to know what crack is and what crack addiction is.
Crack is how crack cocaine is known to drug addicts and dealers. It is the “street” name. It gives a person a faster “high” than regular cocaine.
* Why is it called crack?
Because when a person smokes crack cocaine, an actual popping or “cracking” sound can be heard. So what is crack addiction? The need within one’s self to get another fix, another high, another smoke.
* How do you identify a crack addict?
Crack Addicts can be borderline schizophrenic.
The signs are fairly easy to distinguish. A person who is a crack addict can have really bad teeth that are weak or cracked or broken, they like to wear long sleeves because they are constantly picking at their arms so they cover them even in the heat of summer. They also have scabs they pick at on their face which is harder to hide.
They are borderline schizophrenic, one moment freaking out over the least little thing, the next trying to appear calm. However, their eyes tell the truth as they try to hide the panic they just had. The pupils are so enlarged.
It may be cold and flu season or it may be the middle of summer and either way, a crack addict can have a red nose from snorting cocaine. He can be sweating like crazy one moment and freezing cold the next. That constant sniffing? It isn’t allergies. Look at their eyes. You will soon realize you are face to face with someone who is a crack addict.
Say, your neighbour comes to the door and asks to borrow the phone or a few dollars. Once inside he simply cannot shut up. Being a crack addict can cause a person to become so energized while on the high that he can talk your ear off. Maybe instead of loaning him the few dollars, you should sit him down and talk to him about what is going on and see if he will let you get him help.
A person who is a crack addict will tend to whine more about how he does not feel well or he needs to be alone or he has the entire world on his shoulders. He makes excuses for everything that happens in his life and around him, using those excuses to get high on crack again. It is actually quite easy to identify a crack addict.
