Sounds like an oxymoron in some ways, right? For example, if someone gets hooked on prescription drugs, they can go to different doctors and pharmacies before getting caught. There is a system in place to guard against this but it does not always work fast.
* Nowadays, a person can even have online consultations. Basically, it boils down to money for online pharmacies that get “cyber” doctors to “write” prescriptions. While there are laws in place against this, it does happen because as stated, it boils down to money and even more importantly is the danger since a person is addicted. Plus (call this writer old-fashioned) but I would not be comfortable being prescribed medication over the internet by a cyber doctor who has not seen my records, taken my vitals, run a couple of labs. You get the picture, for me it is a red flag. For someone with a substance abuse problem, it is drug addiction made easy.

Teenagers seem to know where the dealers and alcohol buyers are right away.
* Someone with an alcohol problem has it a little easier at times too. A co-worker drinking some water in the office? If you know, is not unusual and is quite healthy. Except when one day you are in his office, and a wrong swallow makes you cough, so you grab his glass taking a gulp to clear your throat, only to find that you are drinking vodka! You obviously don’t know what to do or what to think. His glass of water, or your co-worker’s little thermos or plastic cups or even a student; these are possible signs of drug addiction made easy.
* Then there are the old standbys: the dealers. Not to mention those who will buy alcohol for minors. Teenagers seem to know where the dealers and alcohol buyers are right away. Sometimes these “cool” things, which are not cool at all, are easier for a teen to get than family time with a parent.
The sad truth is that it can and will catch up with the one addicted causing physical, psychological, sometimes legal and financial problems that will be even harder to overcome.
Because the dealers and contributors, or the “cyber” doctors and pharmacies, everything comes down to money. They will be your buddies when you have the green but they will disappear when you go clean. Of course, in these cases THAT IS A GOOD THING.
